SAN FRANCISCO, CAKerr & Wagstaffe LLP, a San Francisco-based litigation firm, has announced the addition of Nancy Tompkins to the partnership. Ms. Tompkins, who joined the firm as Of Counsel in 2011, has worked as a litigator specializing in complex civil, patent and appellate cases since 2001.  Before entering the private sector, she worked for eleven years in the state and federal appellate courts.

“Nancy brings in-depth knowledge and strong relationships with the courts, which will be of tremendous benefit to our clients,” said Managing Partner James Wagstaffe. “Her breadth of litigation experience and ability to handle complex cases make her an excellent addition to the firm.”

Ms. Tompkins has litigated a wide range of cases, including patent, contract, trust and fee disputes in the state and federal courts.  Prior to joining Kerr & Wagstaffe, she was a Partner with Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP, focusing on generic-side ANDA litigation.  Before joining Townsend, she worked as a Staff Attorney for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and as a Judicial Staff Attorney for the California Court of Appeal in the chambers of the late Justice H. Weston Walker.

She is admitted to practice in California and Massachusetts, as well as the United States Supreme Court, and the Ninth, Eleventh and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals.  She earned her Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin from Oberlin College.
