In a transaction that will create a diversified, high-growth specialty pharmaceutical company, Mallinckrodt plc and Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Inc. have announced a definitive merger agreement under whichMallinckrodt will acquire Questcorin a cash and stock transaction valuedat approximately $5.6 billion, as detailed in the press release below issued by the companies.
