NEW YORK, January 4, 2015— Neil S. Binder and Wendy H. Schwartz, co-founding partners of Binder & Schwartz LLP, announce that Eric B. Fisher and Lindsay A. Bush have joined the firm’s ranks of highly experienced litigators as a partner and associate, respectively. They join the firm from Dickstein Shapiro LLP.

Like Mr. Binder and Ms. Schwartz, Mr. Fisher honed his legal skills as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York.  Immediately before joining Binder & Schwartz, Mr. Fisher was a partner in Dickstein Shapiro’s Financial Restructuring and Bankruptcy Practice and a leader of its Fraud & Financial Services Litigation Practice.  Mr. Fisher has served as lead litigation counsel on a number of the biggest bankruptcy cases to emerge from the 2008 financial crisis and has handled major cases against some of the world’s largest banks.

“Wendy and I launched Binder & Schwartz in 2013 with the goal of delivering to our clients the most sophisticated legal counsel in high-stakes litigation matters, while also providing the focused, personal attention of a small firm,” said Mr. Binder. “Eric and Lindsay share our commitment to intellectual excellence, high-impact litigation and attentive client service.”

“Eric and Lindsay’s experience with bankruptcy matters, and particular focus on hedge funds and distressed investors, offers a natural fit and additional strategic depth for our national and international clients,” said Ms. Schwartz. “Neil and I have known Eric since the three of us served together as Assistant U.S. Attorneys in the Southern District of New York, and I am thrilled he and Lindsay have joined us at Binder & Schwartz.”

“I am excited to join forces with Wendy and Neil,” said Mr. Fisher.  “At Binder & Schwartz, I have the opportunity to practice litigation at the highest level and to focus on getting results for our clients, while offering a level of flexibility and innovation that is only possible in a smaller firm environment.”

Mr. Fisher and Ms. Bush represent companies, partnerships, investment funds, and individuals in bankruptcy, securities, and other commercial litigation matters.  They also advise funds about the impact of litigation on their investment strategies.

Among other high-profile cases, Mr. Fisher is currently the lead attorney for the Motors Liquidation Company Avoidance Action Trust in its $1.5 billion case against JPMorgan Chase and a syndicate of other lenders.  Ms. Bush is assisting Mr. Fisher on this case.
