NEW YORK (October 3, 2016) – DLA Piper announced today that Yasho Lahiri has joined the firm’s Corporate practice and Investment Funds group as a partner in New York.

Lahiri represents both fund sponsors and institutional investors in connection with the formation, capitalization and restructuring of private investment funds within the United States and around the world.

His sponsor-side experience encompasses credit funds, buyout funds, long-short equity funds, funds of funds, risk and merger arbitrage funds, and funds having private equity, hedge fund and hybrid fund features. His experience includes funds investing in unusual assets such as gold, carbon credits, water rights and film financings.  He also represents asset managers on a variety of corporate transactional and regulatory matters.

Lahiri will be director of DLA Piper’s Institutional Investor practice. His investor clients have included sovereign wealth funds, state pension plans, insurance companies and corporate pension plans.

Lahiri joins DLA Piper from Sutherland Asbill & Brennan. Earlier in his career, Lahiri was general counsel at Quantitative Financial Strategies, Inc. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. from Emory University.
