CHICAGO – Oct. 11, 2016 – The law firm Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C. is pleased to announce the expansion of its Health Care Practice Group in Chicago with the addition of Gerald “Jud" E. DeLoss and Jayme R. Matchinski as Officers.

Mr. DeLoss and Ms. Matchinski join the Health Care team that also includes attorneys in Greensfelder’s offices in St. Louis and Belleville, Ill. The additions of Mr. DeLoss and Ms. Matchinski further bolster the firm’s practice and industry concentrations in the Chicago office, which in May 2016 moved to larger space to accommodate the office’s aggressive growth.

Mr. DeLoss and Ms. Matchinski most recently were partners with the law firm Clark Hill PLC in Chicago.

Mr. DeLoss has extensive experience in all aspects of health law including compliance, reimbursement, privacy, and information technology. His areas of focus include mental health and substance use disorder matters, HIPAA, HITECH, and telehealth requirements. He has testified as an expert witness on health information privacy. His clients include behavioral health care providers, health information technology vendors, federally qualified health centers, hospitals and research organizations, and health care industry trade and professional associations.

Mr. DeLoss recently served as chair of the Behavioral Health Task Force of the American Health Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Access to Care Committee of the Illinois Advisory Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependency, and of the Advisory Board for Thompson’s Health Care Compliance Expert. He earned his J.D. with Distinction from the University of North Dakota School of Law and his B.B.A. from the University of North Dakota.

Ms. Matchinski concentrates her practice on health care and corporate law, with a particular focus in the area of sleep medicine. She assists physicians and health care systems with compliance, reimbursement, licensure and certification issues, as well as the purchase, sale and formation of health care entities. Her clients include sleep disorder centers, durable medical equipment companies, rehabilitation hospitals and facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, long-term acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Previously, Ms. Matchinski served as the vice president of a national health care consulting firm.

Ms. Matchinski is a member of the editorial advisory board of Sleep Diagnosis and Therapy Journal, and an advisory member of the board for the Sleep Center Management Institute in Atlanta, Ga. She also serves on the board of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity Illinois Chapter and helps provide pro bono representation to individuals seeking political asylum through the Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights. She earned her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science from Northern Michigan University.
