We represented U.S.-based Avanex in the company's complex $200 million cross-border acquisition of the optical components division of French-based Alcatel. In addition, we represented Network Associates' $640 million acquisition of Dr. Solomon's Group PLC, a publicly traded United Kingdom-based anti-virus software company, in one of the largest cross-border technology acquisitions between the U.S. and the U.K.
Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati represents numerous international enterprises with business interests in the U.S. Our non-U.S. clients include companies based in Canada, China, Europe, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. We assist these clients with a full range of legal services, including venture capital investment, corporate finance, technology transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Among other cases and transactions, we advised Infosys Technologies in its landmark NASDAQ IPO. This $70.4 million transaction marked the first time in history that one of India's companies was listed on an American stock exchange. Subsequently, the firm went on to work with Infosys on two more groundbreaking corporate finance events: one sponsored secondary ADS offering, valued at $294 million, and a consequent sponsored secondary ADS offering, valued at more than $1 billion. This last transaction represented the largest international equity offering in the global markets by an Indian company, the first offering of ADSs by an Indian company that exceeded $1 billion, and the first transaction in which the securities of an Indian company were sold to investors in the form of a public offering without listing in Japan.
