CONTROLLING COSTS. We understand the best legal services have become very expensive and that clients of all sizes and industries are striving to control legal costs. In response we manage litigation matters and business transactions efficiently by employing a practical, common sense approach. For example, we send only essential personnel to depositions, court appearances and business meetings. The Firm endeavors to staff each matter to achieve optimum results while remaining cost-efficient, always keeping in mind the specific objective of the litigation or business transaction. We maximize our use of cost effective alternatives such as electronic research, paralegal personnel, video conferencing and other technology to control costs without compromising quality and results.
GOING THE DISTANCE WHEN NECESSARY. The Firm's litigation partners are recognized as first-rate, experienced trial attorneys with hands-on experience with trials, appeals, administrative hearings, arbitrations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. The Firm's trial attorneys frequently are retained specifically for their extensive courtroom and jury presentation skills - the number of court appearances made by the firm's lawyers is significant and impressive. Opposing counsel are generally aware that facing Glaser Weil in a Courtroom will require considerable skills. This often translates as a warning message to those whose cases are vulnerable in any way.
THE FIRM IS FREQUENTLY CHOSEN TO HANDLE DIFFICULT MATTERS. Clients who find themselves involved in a highly publicized or politically charged dispute or transaction need attorneys adept at communicating the client's position in a sophisticated and appropriate manner. The Firm's attorneys have many years of experience in handling high-profile matters, including the defense of cities and municipal authorities, disputes between municipal authorities and public officials, the prosecution or defense of major defamation, securities and wrongful termination claims, and representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in large-scale commercial litigation. AREAS OF PRACTICE
Litigation
Led by department Chair Patricia Glaser, widely recognized as one of the top trial lawyers in the nation, the Firm's litigators are known and respected for having a result-oriented, cost-effective approach to success in the courtroom. The Firm has built a reputation as the go-to litigators for high-stakes and high-value cases. Since most cases do not end up in trial, in many firms litigators do not accumulate significant trial expertise. In contrast, at Glaser Weil the Firm is abundant with seasoned litigators who regularly try complex, high-profile cases. In part, this is a result of being the Firm of choice by clients who believe a case may ultimately go to trial. Indeed, the Firm's trial lawyers are often retained on the eve of trial for exactly this purpose, achieving successful results in cases that had languished or been considered unresolvable.
