- Another Milberg shoe drops
This time it's attorney Steven Schulman, who pleaded guilty in Los Angeles today to a racketeering charge. He agreed to forfeit $1.85 million in ill-gotten gains and pay a fine of up to $250,000. Schulman's sentencing is set for June 23, the same day sentencing is scheduled for a former Milberg Weiss colleague, David Bershad, who pleaded guilty in July. Schulman faces up to 20 years in prison (prosecutors have recommended 27-33 months), and he could have his license to practice law revoked. Could the long nightmare known as the Milberg Weiss case finally be nearing an end? (Reuters)
