Douglas Tanner's roster of clients includes JP Morgan Partners, Tennenbaum Capital Partners, Mandra Forestry, Sateri International Co. and Wachovia Capital Markets. Tanner has substantial experience in representing issuers and underwriters in high yield securities transactions and private equity investment both here and in Asia. He's previously headed Milbank's Asia offices and Asia corporate securities practices and is currently head of the firm's global securities group.

Douglas Tanner is the head of the Global Securities Group of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. Prior to coming to the New York office, Mr. Tanner was, successively, the managing partner of the Hong Kong and Palo Alto offices of the firm. He was also Head of the firm's Asia corporate practice, overseeing mergers and acquisitions work and debt and equity offerings in the Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo offices. Mr. Tanner also previously practiced corporate law in Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco.
After graduating from the Stanford Law School and Business School, Mr. Tanner practiced in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, handling high technology public offerings and private placements and venture capital fund organization and investments. Mr. Tanner spent three years as a partner in New York City, representing underwriters in equity offerings, securitization transactions and structured capital markets products. He spent nine years in Asia handling a broad range of capital markets and complex corporate transactions, including public and private offerings of high yield debt, equity and convertible securities and domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He also has represented private equity and hedge funds on a broad range of investments in a broad range of industrial and technology companies.
Mr. Tanner has been a frequent speaker internationally on corporate topics. He received his law degree from Stanford University School of Law and also received an M.B.A. degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He is a past member of the California State Bar Corporations Committee. He is qualified to practice law in California and New York.
