Gail Hashimoto is a member of the
Corporate,
Tax & Business Transactions Department, serves as its Department Chair, and heads the Intellectual Property Practice
Group. She joined Hopkins & Carley in 1999.
Ms. Hashimoto's practice encompasses a broad range of needs in business planning, formation, funding, and operation for
businesses in a variety of industries and jurisdictions, with a special focus on intellectual property transactions and
strategies, trademarks, copyrights, and licensing.
Ms. Hashimoto is an active member of the State Bar of California and its sections on
Business Law and
Intellectual Property. She is a
member of the
Santa Clara County Bar Association and its sections on
Business Law and Litigation, Corporation and Enterprise Law, and Intellectual Property Law, and is a member of the High Tech
Committee. She is also a member of the
International Trademark Association
(INTA).
Ms. Hashimoto received her law degree from the
University of
California's Hastings College of the Law in 1985 and earned her A.B. from
Stanford University in 1979. She served as a staff member and an editor of the Hastings Law Journal, and
as a judicial extern to Judge Joseph T. Sneed of the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She was admitted to the
State Bar of California in 1985.
From 1979 to 1982, Ms. Hashimoto researched drug-receptor interactions and performed computer-assisted theoretical studies
of bioactive molecules as a chemical pharmacologist with the Molecular Theory Laboratory in the Life Sciences Division of
SRI International in Menlo Park, California.
