E. Drew Britcher is a Certified Civil Trial Attorney who has successfully prosecuted and resolved a variety of complex
medical negligence claims, product liability claims and other personal injury matters. He is admitted to the in New Jersey
and New York Bars and admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He is the President of The Association
of Trial Lawyers of America-New Jersey Chapter and serves as the Chairperson of their Amicus and Medical Malpractice
Committees of ATLA-NJ. Following the terrorist attacks of September 11th, Mr. Britcher was appointed to chair the ATLA-NJ
September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Pro Bono Program. He was also a founding member of the Board of Trial Lawyers Care,
the National Charitable Foundation established to provide free legal representation to the victims of this tragedy.
A published author on issues of Medical Malpractice and Product Liability Law, Drew's most recent writing focused on New
Jersey's new Patients' First and Patient Safety acts. To date, a dozen appellate decisions of
cases in which he served as either Appellate or Amicus counsel have been published. Drew has a long history of achievement
as evidenced by his receipt of the Professional Achievement Award from the New Jersey Bar Association, Young Lawyers
Division, in 1988 for being the youngest lawyer to receive a million dollar verdict for one of his clients, a feat he
accomplished in his first jury trial at age 28, after only 2 1/2 years of practice.
Drew is active in both civic and political affairs and has served as the Vice-Chair of the Zoning Board of Adjustment of
the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills, a candidate for the New Jersey Legislature, a delegate to the 1988 Democratic
National Convention and a New Jersey Democratic State Committeeman. He has also served as Vice-Chairperson and is
presently a member of the board of his state's largest Planned
Parenthood affiliate. An active soccer coach and player, Drew was a member of the New Jersey/New York Host Committee
for World Cup ’94. In 2005, he was appointed by the Speaker of the General Assembly as a member of the Medical Care
Availability Task Force.
A graduate of Rutgers College, Drew received the prestigious Class of
1931 Award and has been inducted as a Loyal Son of Rutgers. Drew is also a graduate of the New York Law School, where he was admitted to the Order of the Barristers.
