David Dickey is a dual-graduate of the University of Florida receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science (1981)
and a Juris Doctorate degree, with honors (1992). In addition to his extensive experience in the areas of personal injury,
professional negligence, wrongful death and commercial litigation, Mr. Dickey brings a notable military background to the
Firm. A veteran U.S. Naval Officer, David served with Fighter Squadron Two (VF-2) as an F-14 RIO logging over 250 carrier
arrested landings, graduated from the Naval Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN), and worked in a special projects position with
the Navy Operational Intelligence Center in Washington, D.C. Military awards include the Navy Achievement Medal and the Navy
Commendation Medal for meritorious service. After leaving active duty, David served in the Naval Reserve assigned to the
Defense Intelligence Agency support unit with the U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida.
Mr. Dickey was admitted to the Florida Bar 1992 and is admitted to the Bars of the United States Supreme Court, U.S. Court of
Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, and U.S. District Court, Southern District of
Florida. He is an active member of numerous professional associations including: Hillsborough County Bar Association (Member
section on Trial Lawyers); American Bar Association; The Florida Bar (Member Section on Trial Lawyers); and the Florida
Justice Association (Eagle Member). From 1992 to 2006, Mr. Dickey practiced with the law firm of de la Parte & Gilbert, P.A.
in Tampa, Florida as a partner and integral member of their litigation team. David joined The Yerrid Law Firm on January 1,
2007.
Mr. Dickey has extensive experience in civil, commercial and appellate litigation. He has successfully prosecuted cases
involving wrongful death claims, medical malpractice, construction defects, products liability, motor vehicle accidents,
motorcycle accidents, insurance claims practices, and class action lawsuits. In 2006, David was part of the trial team that
achieved the largest civil jury verdict in the nation and the largest medical malpractice verdict in Florida history.
Active in many community and charitable organizations, David currently serves as the President and Chairman of the Board of
the Brandon Sports and Aquatics Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health, fitness and
athletic programs to people of all abilities. Mr. Dickey is married to Felicia Dickey and has four children, Avery, Riley,
David and Dakota.
