J. Kyle Bachus is a founding partner of Bachus & Schanker, LLC. Mr. Bachus graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. degree and from the University of Florida College of Law where he was awarded a Juris Doctor degree. Mr. Bachus is licensed
to practice law in both the Federal and State courts in the State of
Colorado and the State of Florida.
Mr. Bachus actively litigates cases involving catastrophic injuries, serious personal and financial damage, wrongful death,
and insurance bad faith. Mr. Bachus limits his practice to the representation of the injured and their families. Mr. Bachus
has a strong belief that it is important for those injured in Colorado to immediately seek the advice of an experienced semi-truck accident, auto accident, motorcycle accident, product liability, insurance bad faith, medical malpractice, or personal injury attorney familiar with Colorado law.
Mr. Bachus is a member of The Colorado Bar Association, The Denver Bar Association, The Florida Bar Association, The
Florida Justice Association, Trial Lawyers for Public
Justice, The National Crime Victims Bar Association, The Academy of Catastrophic Injury Attorneys, and The American Association for Justice (formerly Association of Trial
Lawyers of America). Mr. Bachus is currently serving his eighth year as an elected member of the Board of Directors for the
Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. Additionally, Mr. Bachus also serves as one of the only two elected representatives from
the State of Colorado on the Board of Governors for the American Association for Justice.
In 2005, Mr. Bachus was appointed to serve as the co-chair of the Colorado Trial Lawyers' Association Auto Litigators
Committee, a position he continues to hold. In 2007, Mr. Bachus was named by the national legal publication
Lawdragon, as one of "The Top 500 Leading Personal Injury Lawyers in America." Mr. Bachus was also featured in the
2007, 2008 and 2009 editions of 5280 Magazine's Super Lawyer edition, being selected to the "Colorado's Super
Lawyers" list.
Mr. Bachus has also been recognized as an AV-rated attorney-the highest rating assigned to individual attorneys by the
Martindale Hubbell publication. Martindale Hubbell Ratings are assigned according to peer review and attest to a lawyer's
legal ability and professional ethics. According to Martindale Hubbell, an AV Peer Review Rating is a certification
marking a significant accomplishment and serves as a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the
highest level of professional excellence. Additionally, a lawyer must be admitted to the bar for 10 years or more to
receive an AV-rating.
In 2003-2004, Mr. Bachus participated in the national Trial Lawyers Care program, which was established to help victims of
the 9/11 tragedies and their families with their claims to the United States Government. Through this pro-bono program, Mr.
Bachus represented a New York EMT who suffered disabling injuries at the World Trade Center site.
Mr. Bachus continues to be a guest lecturer at seminars and conventions sponsored by numerous organizations including The
Colorado Bar Association, The Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and The National Business Institute.
Mr. Bachus has extensive litigation and jury trial experience. He has litigated cases to trial verdict in both State and
Federal Court in the State of Florida, the State of Colorado, the State of Missouri and the State of Washington. He has also
presented oral arguments before the Fifth District Court of Appeals for the State of Florida and the Colorado Court of
Appeals.
Mr. Bachus limits his practice to the representation of injury victims. His personal philosophy incorporates a strong
commitment to understanding the circumstances confronting his clients and a vigorous will to see that responsible parties
are held accountable for the damages they have caused in an effort to achieve justice for his clients.
