Democrats know where to turn when they need guidance with election law: Robert Bauer. Dubbed the "dean of the Democratic election bar," he played a prominent role during the 2004 presidential campaign. Bauer served as national counsel to Sen. John Kerry's campaign, and he also represented America Coming Together, a committee formed in 2004 to get Democrats to the polls. Bauer also counseled the Democratic leader during the 1999 impeachment trial of President Clinton. Bauer, the chair of his firm's political law practice, is recognized as the "top lawyer on the Democrat side in this area."
