Floyd Abrams has built a reputation as "the dean of the First Amendment bar." He has fought to protect the First Amendment rights of clients ranging from ABC, NBC and CBS to the Brooklyn Museum of Art to Al Franken and Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell. He catapulted into the public eye with the 1971 Pentagon Papers case, in which he successfully represented The New York Times in its efforts to publish secret documents about the Vietnam War. Most recently, Abrams represented New York Times reporter Judith Miller, who was jailed for refusing to testify to a grand jury investigating the leak of the identity of CIA officer Valerie Plame.
