During his 40-year career, Andrew Bogen has helped shape many high-stakes deals. He advised Hilton Hotels in its $4 billion acquisition of Promus Hotel in 1999, and he counseled Boeing in its $3.75 billion purchase of Hughes Satellite in 2000. Bogen also advised Northrop in its $3.8 billion acquisition of Litton Industries that closed in 2001, and he represented Northrop Grumman in its $7.8 billion acquisition of TRW in 2002. Bogen played a role in Dole Food's going-private deal in 2003, advising a special committee established by Dole to consider the offer. And software company PeopleSoft tapped Bogen and other Gibson Dunn attorneys in 2003 to represent the company in fending off a takeover bid by Oracle.
