As general counsel of coffee powerhouse Starbucks, Paula Boggs has brewed some ambitious projects for the company's legal division. Her commitment to increasing the legal department's pro bono activities have led to the expansion of a Seattle program that helps poor tenants fight court battles with their landlords. Boggs has tried to promote diversity at Starbucks and within the broader legal community. She has brought wide-ranging experience to her general counsel position. Before joining Starbucks in 2002, she had served in several different roles, including an executive at Dell Computer, a partner at Preston Gates & Ellis, an assistant U.S. attorney, a government staff attorney and an Army officer.
