EDITORIAL REVIEW
As chairman of 400-lawyer Arizona firm Snell & Wilmer, John Bouma has been the driving force behind its expansion in the western United States. The firm, which was founded in Phoenix, has opened offices in Tucson, Ariz.; Costa Mesa, Calif.; Salt Lake City; Denver; and Las Vegas. Bouma, who has served as president of the Arizona State Bar, is known for building "a great firm" and "is recognized for his leadership." In one of his notable cases, Bouma represented law firm Troutman Sanders in litigation stemming from the failed thrift Lincoln Savings & Loan, which collapsed in 1989.
