Stuart H. Singer is the Administrative Partner for the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida office. He has been counsel in significant trial and appellate matters throughout the country for clients such as Carnival Corporation, Fidelity National Financial, FPL Group, Fresh Del Monte Produce, NASCAR, State Farm, and Tyco/ ADT Security Services. For the last three years, he has been listed in LawDragon's 500 Leading Lawyers in America, as well as in Best Lawyers in America and Chambers U.S.A. Guide to Leading Lawyers for Business. In 2009, Mr. Singer received a first-tier ranking in Antitrust by Chambers and was named 2010 "Antitrust Lawyer of the Year" for the Miami area by Best Lawyers. Significant recent representations include:

• Representation of NASCAR in defense of antitrust litigation brought by Kentucky Speedway alleging monopolization of top-level stock car racing. In 2008, the U.S. District Court entered summary judgment in favor of NASCAR, which was affirmed by the Sixth Circuit in 2009.
• Defense of Fresh Del Monte Produce in antitrust litigation alleging monopolization of the fresh pineapple business. In 2009, the district court (SDNY) entered summary judgment in favor of Fresh Del Monte. Case recognized by Daily Business Review for "Most Effective Lawyering" in class action litigation for 2009.
• In 2010, obtained affirmance from 9th Circuit of decision finding Amway's alternative dispute resolution and arbitration agreements to be unconscionable and unenforceable; serves as lead counsel for purported class of over 500,000 current and former Amway distributors.
• Obtained dismissal of antitrust and trade practice class actions brought against Carnival Corporation in 2008 and 2006, summary judgment for Carnival on contract litigation in 2009, and won preliminary injunction dispute on trade secrets matter, also in 2009.
• Won appellate decision from Tenth Circuit (August 2009) regarding ownership of copyrights and contract rights for the UNIX operating system.
• Procured dismissal with prejudice of claims brought in S. D. Fla. by bankruptcy trustee against former officers and directors of travel business; case recognized by Daily Business Review for "Most Effective Lawyering" in area of bankruptcy for 2008.
• Obtained dismissal of class action allegations in two cases, and won trials and appeals in Colorado state courts in 2005-2008 on behalf of Tyco International and ADT Security Services in disputes with ADT's former dealers.
• Successfully defended seller of high technology business in two-month arbitration trial in 2004 over alleged fraud in connection with sale of the business.
• Coordinated litigation strategy for nationwide consolidated insurance subrogation suits, including first- reported appellate decision supporting a nationwide consolidated subrogation action brought by State Farm.
• Representation of FPL Energy in litigation in federal court in Wisconsin over uranium supply contracts; obtained favorable ruling on summary judgment in July 2008.

Mr. Singer's current cases includes serving as lead counsel for investors in Madoff feeder funds, intellectual property litigation concerning the UNIX operating system, prosecution of a class action against pyramid schemes, and coordination of multiple product liability cases. At the appellate level, Mr. Singer has argued cases recently in the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Circuits. Mr. Singer is also lead counsel in the firm's pro bono representation of a certified class of 1.5 million children seeking to enforce federal Medicaid rights in federal court in Florida.

Mr. Singer is a member of the American Law Institute , former chair of the Florida Bar's Committee on Civil Rules, and has spoken widely to professional groups on litigation and antitrust topics. He was invited to serve as counsel in a demonstration trial at the ABA Antitrust Section, and to speak on constitutional litigation at the Univ. of Florida law school. He has previously taught on the adjunct faculty at the University of Miami law school. Mr. Singer has served on the board of directors of the New World Symphony, is a Life Trustee of the Vizcayan Foundation, and currently is a member of the governing board of theNational Association of Urban Debate Leagues and of the Dean's Council of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.
