Notable case(s), past or present (include date if possible):
| My mom, my she rest in peace, would point out two cases. The first was a non-securities case on behalf of a small production company, Main Line Pictures, against an actress, Kim Basinger, for walking out on a movie project ("Boxing Helena") two weeks before the start of principal photography. Although we did win at trial, my mom would pick this case for a different reason -- I was quoted in People Magazine. After reading the article, she called me up to say, "You finally made it." Clearly, my mom did not regard my work in securities litigation and hostile takeovers or mentions in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal as significant.
The second would have been a series of securities class actions arising from the sale of a prominent motion picture studio. Early in my career, I was representing one of the directors of the studio, Dinah Shore, in deposition. After the deposition ended, I called my mom on the telephone and Ms. Shore left her a message about "her wonderful son." My mom replayed that recorded message until the tape finally broke. |

Best moment of career:
Obtaining a non-suit on behalf of a senior acccounting officer of a public company against securities claims brought by the SEC. As the favorable judgment was being read, I turned to my client and saw tears of joy running down her face. I thought to myself, "Justice was truly served. This is what the practice of law is all about."

Worst moment of career:
All trial lawyers suffer the "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune," but we should thank our lucky stars to be part of this very nobel profession, despite less than optimal outcomes every now and then. However, the worst moment of my career was also the worst moment of my life -- the day my dad passed away. He was my hero.

Attorney you most admire:
Clarence Darrow.

Favorite activities (besides the Law):
It may sound corny, but my favorite activity is spending time with my sons, Branan and Declan.

Favorite Sports Team (if you have one), or Favorite Theater or Museum, etc:
This is an easy one: The New York Yankees. I was born a Yankees fan. My mom was 9-months pregnant with me and my dad was still dragging her to see the Yanks play. I still carry my glove to all the games just in case the Yankees run out of players.
