Consulting services you provide:
I am a strategic consultant to corporate law departments. I work collaboratively with the legal departments of Fortune 500 companies and smaller, fast-growing companies to develop strategic restructuring, operational improvement, and litigation financial management strategies that eliminate costs, streamline operations, and improve business intelligence models. Of note is my work performing data mining on litigation portfolios for the purposes of identifying patterns in causation and preventing recurrence, or creating customized case assessment models to improve litigation cost estimation and liability exposure. I also provide benchmarking and surveys in the areas of legal spending, best practices, and compensation.

How did you come to hold your present position (specifically, what led you to become a legal recruiter, marketing consultant, etc.)?
Years of management consulting, auditing and litigation consulting prepared me for the challenge of running the financial and operational aspects of a large, international law department. Here I became involved in implementing some fairly innovative technology and business processes, particularly around knowledge management. The success of this work caught the attention of my peers and their General Counsels, and ultimately took me down a different consulting path...advising corporate law departments.

What is the best thing about working with lawyers?
The lawyers I work with are smart people who are dedicated to and take pride in their work. They want to learn and are eager to embrace opportunities to perform at higher levels. In my mind, this makes them ideal clients.

What is the worst thing about working with lawyers?
A tendency to over-analyze a problem when the solution is before their eyes.

What has been the most satisfying moment of your career thus far?
Not one moment, but more generally, seeing my clients succeed at what they do.

What are your favorite activities outside the law?
Family, music, gardening, cooking, reading
