How did you come to hold your present position (specifically, what led you to become a legal recruiter, marketing consultant, etc.)?
As a professor at the Harvard Business School, I wrote a regular column for The American Lawyer magazine in the 1980s and subsequently wrote six books on professional service firms (so far).

What is the best thing about working with lawyers?
Their intelligence.

What is the worst thing about working with lawyers?
Their desire to cling to individual autonomy.

What has been the most satisfying moment of your career thus far?
Whenever a stranger comes up to me and tells me my work has influenced their life.

What are your favorite activities outside the law?
Watching movies at home with my wife.
