Consulting services you provide:
Specialize in legal search and placement of attorneys (with an emphasis on partner placements) for over 20 years.

How did you come to hold your present position (specifically, what led you to become a legal recruiter, marketing consultant, etc.)?
I was the Founder of Pacific Search International and remain the CEO and President of the company. The idea of putting deals together that involved people where you could see the immediacy of the transaction and benefit to people's lives in the most human terms has always been what inspires me to continue my work to this day. I always say that we don't just place lawyers, we build careers. Integrity and expertise counts not just for lawyers but for search professionals that represent them. I believe in discretion and doing it the old fashioned way, quietly and ethically. Now more than ever information is everywhere, or the world is flat as Tom Friedman argues in his book, so how you use that information is more important than ever. Still at the end of the day a law firm or company is only as good as its greatest asset, its people, its human capital.

What is the best thing about working with lawyers?
They are a dynamic and intelligent group of people that never cease to amaze me.

What is the worst thing about working with lawyers?
They ask alot of questions, but it is that curiosity that makes them dynamic and intelligent. As someone once said curiousity is the mother of invention.

What has been the most satisfying moment of your career thus far?
Having represented hundreds of attorneys it hard to single out any one moment as I have always represented each of my clients the same way, relentlessly , discreetly, and ethically. Some of the highlights have been the first merger in the Silicon Valley that made the Wall Street Journal, helping to build out the offices of several national law firms in California, being asked to sponsor some of the leading legal awards ceremonies in California by several legal publications and being selected by Lawdragon for this Survey have certainly been great moments. In the end though, the most satisfying moment was that in the course of this career I met my wife Jeanie and had the birth of my two children Arielle and Drew.

What are your favorite activities outside the law?
Sports of all kinds. Having Season Seats to watch the L.A. Lakers and coaching my kids in basketball and other sports.
