Best moment of career:
Winning my first trial when I was a second year associate.

Worst moment of career:
Waiting to hear that all our staff were safe in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Attorney you most admire:
Hon. Robert L. Carter -- U.S. District Court Judge. I clerked for Judge Carter before joining Proskauer. Judge Carter did more to advance the cause of civil rights -- particularly before the Supreme Court -- than almost any lawyer in our history. A consummate jurist and a true Renaissance man.

Favorite activities (besides the Law):
Spending time with my nine grandchildren; travel; reading.

Favorite Sports Team (if you have one), or Favorite Theater or Museum, etc:
New York Yankees

What is your proudest accomplishment on behalf of your firm:
Maintaining our values, and our stability, through a period of substantial growth

If there is one thing you could do over as managing partner/chairperson, what is it?
Finding more time for one-on-one meetings with associates and staff

Is there anything - an individual, a double espresso, a good 4:30 a.m. workout - you consider essential to your success?
A very understanding and supportive spouse
