Why should I register?

Registering at Lawdragon allows you to:
What's the difference between basic and advanced registration?

Basic registration allows visitors to post comments on news items.

Advanced registration is required for postings evaluations, voting for Lawdragon 500 and 3000 guides, and adding or editing attorney listings in the Lawdragon directory.

Why does Lawdragon need to know whether I'm a lawyer, judge or not a legal professional?

Two reasons. First, when you post evaluations or vote for Lawdragon 500 and 3000 guides, Lawdragon gives varying degrees of weight to your input based on who you are. For example, a client or general counsel's vote for an attorney would be given greater consideration than a marketing professional's vote.

Second, many of the lawyers and judges who register at Lawdragon.com already have listings in our legal professional directory. If you are a lawyer or judge, Lawdragon will try to match you with your existing directory listing in case you ever need to update your contact information or practice areas.

I'm a lawyer or judge. Why does Lawdragon need so much information from me?

When lawyers and judges register at Lawdragon.com, the information they submit is used to create a listing for them in our legal professional directory.

Why am I being asked for my professional e-mail address?

Lawdragon will search for your e-mail address in our directory of attorneys and judges to see if it matches an existing listing. If no listing is found, you will be asked to submit information for a new listing.

Why am I being asked for my bar number?

If you are listed in our directory of attorneys and judges but your e-mail address doesn't match the one Lawdragon has on file, or Lawdragon has no e-mail address on file for your listing, we will use your bar number to verify your identity before allowing you to edit or update your listing.

What happens if I choose to register as a non-legal professional instead of registering as a lawyer or judge?

Registering as a lawyer or judge will give greater weight to the votes and evaluations you submit to Lawdragon.com. The attorneys or judges you vote for or evaluate will have a better chance of being included in the Lawdragon 500 and 3000 guides or achieving a higher Lawdragon ranking.
