
PROFILE
Gerald Agnew has successfully tried over 100 civil jury trials representing consumers and their families in catastrophic injury and wrongful death actions involving defective products, construction accidents, premises, bicycle and vehicular accidents, medical malpractice, elder abuse and other acts of negligence. Mr. Agnew graduated from Southwestern Law School in 1974, cum laude, in the top 10 of his graduating class. He served as Editor-in-chief of the Law Review. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates; a Master in the American Inns of Court; and a Fellow in the International Academy ofTrial Lawyers. In 1986, Mr. Agnew served as the youngest President of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), then known as LATLA, the largest local trial bar in the country. He was also President of the South Bay Bar Association in 1997 and is currently President of the Western Trial Lawyers Association.
In 1979, Mr. Agnew was chosen by CAALA as "Trial Lawyer ofthe Year," its youngest recipient. Verdictum Juris named him as the "Southern California Plaintiff Trial Lawyer of the Year," and California Lawyer has listed him as one of California's "most respected plaintiff trial lawyers." He is regarded as one of the "Top 100 Super Lawyers in Southern California" (top 5%) for the years 2006 through 2011 and has most recently been considered one ofthe "Top 10 Super Lawyers in Southern California" for 2011. Mr. Agnew has also been recognized as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" for the past 18 years and has met the standards of excellence of the American Trial Lawyers Association for selection to its ratings for the "Top 100 Trial Lawyers."
