EDITORIAL REVIEW
The leading U.S. immigration lawyer wrote the book and made much of the law on the rights of aliens, whom he continues to champion. He's a veteran of more than 50 federal cases concerning the rights of aliens, argued at every level up to and including the Supreme Court.
A hero for immigrants, winning $500 million from Duvalier and the extension of constitutional rights for protection and redress.
Ira Kurzban represents individuals and businesses facing immigration hurdles and regularly is cited as one of the best attorneys in the field. He is the author of the self-titled Kurzban's "Immigration Law Sourcebook", which is perhaps the most commonly used immigration-law reference book around. An experienced litigator, Kurzban also is well-known for his work on international and human-rights cases, particularly in his capacity as counsel to the government of Haiti and its former president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide. The Miami attorney served as Aristide's American-side spokesman during the controversial period in 2004 when the Haitian leader was deposed and forced into exile.
