Jury Awards American Steamship $4.7M

MINNEAPOLIS, February 2013 – A federal jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota in Duluth, Minn., awarded American Steamship Company $4,682,322.55 for repair damages and lost business income after a 11-day trial ended February 21, 2013. The jury decided that Hallett Dock Company was 100 percent responsible for causing the 1,000-foot-long motor vessel Walter J. Court Denies Disney Request for Review

LOS ANGELES (February  2013) – The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit today unanimously denied Disney’s Petition for rehearing and review of the $320 million jury verdict and judgment in favor of Celador International, Ltd. None of the 28 active Judges on the Ninth Circuit asked for a vote to consider rehearing by the full court.  The Judgment in favor of Celador is the largest verdict in Hollywood history in a profit-sharing dispute. LA Jury Awards Molestation Victim $23 Million

LOS ANGELES (December 19, 2012) - Estey Bomberger has announced that yesterday a Los Angeles jury awarded a young victim of molestation a verdict of $23 million resulting from sexual abuse by his former elementary school teacher, Forrest Stobbe. Stobbe is responsible for $16.1 million of the verdict and the Los Angeles Unified School District must pay $6.9 million in damages for its failure to provide proper supervision.
