June 21, 2016, New York…Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to announce that Michael Lacovara will join the firm as a partner in the Litigation & Trial Department in the New York office.  His practice focuses on antitrust and complex commercial disputes across diverse industries, including the technology, financial services and natural resources sectors.
 
Widely known as a leading trial lawyer, Lacovara has advised on antitrust, complex commercial, tax and tort matters in more than 30 states and 10 federal circuits across the United States.  He is experienced in both the prosecution and defense of multi-jurisdictional and multi-forum litigation, and frequently serves as national and global coordinating counsel for business-critical cross border litigations.  Lacovara also has an extensive background in investment banking, having co-founded and served as President and CEO of Cortview Capital Holdings, a securities trading and investment banking firm, among other roles.

Lacovara will join Latham & Watkins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in New York and London. He received his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, his master’s degree from Cambridge University and his JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
