Minneapolis, November 3, 2016 – The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Michael T. Hatting has joined the firm as a partner in the Commercial Transactions practice in the Minneapolis office.

Hatting brings 16 years of experience in private practice and as in-house counsel for privately held real estate development companies.

“We are very pleased to welcome Mike to the firm,” said Hinshaw Commercial Transactions Chair Dean Parker. “His broad transactional experience in real estate development, and his emphasis on commercial lending and historic tax credit financings, adds significant new experience and capabilities to the existing strengths of our real estate, construction and land use practices.”

“Hinshaw has a national platform and a deep bench for real estate, land use and construction,” Hatting said. “I'm really excited at the opportunity to join the firm, and look forward to helping clients on a wide range of real estate transactions here in the Upper Midwest and around the country."

Hatting has extensive experience in commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, project development, joint venture financing, formation of real estate investment funds, property management, and leasing. He takes a practical and common sense approach to his work as developer's counsel, having served for seven years as Executive Vice-President and General Counsel to a major Twin Cities-based real estate developer. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law (J.D.) and Macalester College (B.A.).

Hatting is the latest attorney to join the Hinshaw Minneapolis team. Kyle Eidsness, a business litigator formerly at Foley & Mansfield, joined the firm as an associate in early October.
