The firm will continue to have its offices at 1428 Brickell Avenue in Downtown Miami, under the new firm name of Espinosa Trueba Martinez, P.L. Elio F. Martinez, Jr. joins as a member, Gavin N. L. White joins as a partner, and Nnamdi Jackson as an associate.  Richard Bec, Scott Burr, and David Chacin join as Of Counsel.   Francesca Russo, formerly Of Counsel with Espinosa | Trueba, has been named a Partner.  These changes make the firm one of the largest intellectual property boutiques in South Florida.

Espinosa Trueba, P.L. was founded by attorneys Jorge Espinosa and William R. Trueba, Jr. in 2008. Elio F. Martinez, Jr. was previously the managing partner of Martinez, White & Viniegra, and prior to that was the administrative partner with the law firm of Concepcion, Martinez & Puente. He is a commercial litigator whose practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, specifically infringement of trademarks, patents and copyrights, as well as protection of trade secrets. His practice also focuses on financial services litigation. He is a 2015 South Florida Legal Guide Top Attorney-Corporate and Business, a 2015 Florida Super Lawyer and a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (by invitation only) and the Defense Research Institute. He is admitted to practice in Florida, the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Judicial Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Martinez holds a JD from New York University School of Law.
 
Francesca Russo focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation, commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution. She has worked with a broad range of clients both domestic and international on all phases of the litigation process before federal and state courts in various areas of commercial litigation.  Russo is multilingual and serves clients in English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.  Russo is a 2015 Best Lawyer and has been named a ‘Rising Star’ by Florida Super Lawyers. She received her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University School of Law.  Russo began her legal career in Montreal, Canada.
 
Gavin N.L. White, previously a partner with the law firm of Martinez, White & Viniegra, focuses his practice on commercial fraud & forensic prosecution, commercial litigation, financial services and insurance litigation and business disputes.  White will be heading intellectual property insurance defense and entertainment law aspects of the new firm.  Throughout his career, he has worked extensively in defending corporations from a variety of litigation claims. He is admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. He was named a Top Up and Comer Attorney in Civil Litigation from the South Florida Legal Guide for three consecutive years – 2015, 2014 and 2013. White holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
 
Nnamdi Jackson, previously an associate with the law firm of Martinez, White & Viniegra, focuses his practice on commercial litigation and insurance litigation. He represents individuals and corporate entities in litigation matters involving business, investment and insurance coverage disputes. Jackson received his J.D. from Florida International University and he is a member of the Cuban American Bar Association’s Pro Bono Project. 
 
Richard Bec, previously Of Counsel with the law firm of Martinez, White & Viniegra, joins the firm as Of Counsel.  Bec focuses his practice on commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters. Bec will be working in developing and defending bankruptcy related intellectual property cases.  Bec received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the Florida Southern and Middle Southern District Bankruptcy Court.
 
Scott Burr, formerly Of Counsel with the law firm of Martinez, White & Viniegra, is Florida Bar Board Certified as a specialist in international law, including international arbitration and litigation, immigration, customs and cross-border transactions.  Burr joins the firm as Of Counsel.  He is also certified as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS) and holds an “AV” rating from industry standard Martindale-Hubbell. Burr received his J.D. from Penn State University’s Dickinson School of Law and he holds a Masters of Law in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center. Burr is admitted in Florida, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the Law Society of England and Wales.          
 
David E. Chacin, previously Of Counsel with the law firm of Martinez, White & Viniegra, represents clients in a wide array of commercial litigation cases, with an emphasis on securities law and insurance defense. Chacin joins the firm as Of Counsel.  He has extensive experience with the Financial Industry Regulation Authority (FINRA) in securities matters and commercial litigation in State and Federal Court. Chacin received his J.D. cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law and he is admitted to practice in Florida, Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
