Corboy & Demetrio has obtained a settlement of $1.2 million against the maker of a hydraulically- operated ‘picker’ lift after an employee of Best Buy in Bloomingdale fell from a platform while retrieving a TV from an elevated storage area in the store in 2008. The plaintiff, Christopher Connors, had a safety belt around his waist that was supplied by Big Joe Manufacturing Company, which designed and manufactured the lift but the belt was loose and slipped off over his head when he fell from the platform. Corboy Files 40 Lawsuits Against Northwestern Lab

Aug. 20, 2013 - The Chicago law firm of Corboy & Demetrio has filed 40 separate lawsuits, one for each of the patients whose sperm samples were destroyed while stored in a chamber owned by Northwestern Memorial Hospital located in a lab maintained by the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation. Corboy & Demetrio Files Lawsuit Against NHL

May 12, 2013- The Chicago law firm of Corboy & Demetrio has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the National Hockey League, accusing it of negligently causing the death of Derek Boogaard by supplying him with excessive amounts of painkillers during his career as an “Enforcer” and failing in its attempt to curb and cure his resulting addiction. Corboy & Demetrio Obtains $8M Verdict

Mar. 25, 2013- The Chicago law firm of Corboy & Demetrio has obtained a jury verdict of $8 million on behalf of the estate of a Homewood wife and mother who was fatally struck by a truck after she stood on the shoulder of I-294 to investigate her flat tire.
