We are pleased to present the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America for 2014-2015. This is a particularly special edition of the 500, as it commemorates Lawdragon’s 10th birthday.
As always, though, it’s not about us. The real celebration here is for the fantastically diverse array of lawyers whom we honor this year with the nation’s most elite distinction. From Bill Marler, the nation’s food safety guru; to Seeger Weiss’ Chris Seeger and Paul Weiss chairman Brad Karp, the battling titans of NFL concussion litigation, and Morgan Lewis chair Jami Wintz McKeon, one of a handful of women steering BigLaw these days. Women surpass 30 percent of the total of this year’s list, not as the best women lawyers, but as the finest lawyers at their craft.
What we are most proud of is the generous friendship of time and support that so many of you place in us. There are thousands of lawyers who deserve this recognition for the work they do in government, public interest, academia, for plaintiffs and corporations. And we hope you’ll view this list as we do – of an amazing representation of the importance of the justice system in America.
As in past years, the Lawdragon 500 is chosen from a combination of submissions from law firms; votes and comments through our online voting form; and our own editorial research, which remains the most important factor in the selection process. In the weeks to come, we will also be introducing our first Hall of Fame class of many prominent past 500 members, as well as our Legends of the 500 – those who have made the list each and every year.
