NEW YORK (February 22, 2016) – DLA Piper announced today that James Meade has joined the firm’s Private Equity practice as a partner in the New York office.

Meade’s corporate practice focuses on private equity transactions, and he has significant experience in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions and corporate and real estate finance. His extensive private equity background encompasses fund-raising, investments, and portfolio management, as well as debt, equity, private and public financings.

“James is a talented and seasoned practitioner who has nurtured longstanding relationships with clients around the world,” said Daniel Eisner, co-chair of DLA Piper’s US Private Equity practice.  “I have known and worked closely with him over many years, and his skills will be a great asset to the continued growth of our transactional capabilities.”

Meade has represented clients across a diverse range of industries that includes wireless communications, automotive transportation, education, classic toy brands, real estate brokerage, leisure and hospitality, Internet-based solution providers, and natural and organic brands.

Meade joins DLA Piper from Proskauer Rose. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Oxford University’s Magdalen College in the UK and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
