Jenny Hill Bratt has joined Withers Bergman as a partner in its San Diego office.  Jenny's practice focuses on US and international trust and estate planning, tax advice, charitable giving and advising family businesses on their business structures.  She joins the firm from DLA Piper LLP (US)'s San Diego office.

Jenny is qualified to practice in California, New York and Connecticut and has been selected as a 'Rising Star' in San Diego by Super Lawyers in 2015 and 2016.  Jenny is a member of the Executive Committee of the Trusts & Estates Section of the California State Bar, and also serves as a member of the Board of Directors at Congregation Beth Israel in San Diego, as well as playing a leading role in the local chapter of the Anti-Defamation League.

Jeremy Crickard, co-head of the firm's US Private Client and Tax team, comments: "Jenny is among the very best rising trusts and estates practitioners in Southern California. She is highly regarded throughout the state for both her technical and client service skills, and we are delighted to have her join our growing California team."

Jenny adds: "I am very excited to be joining Withers Bergman's estate planning team.  The firm's track record in this area is second to none, and I'm confident that joining a firm with such a strong focus in this area offers both fantastic growth prospects for my practice, and new ways that I can help fulfil my clients' most important legal needs.  Having worked across from numerous members of the California team on matters over the years, I already feel like an established part of the practice."

Withers Bergman significantly expanded its presence in California in 2015, when it added offices in San Diego, Los Angeles and Rancho Santa Fe to its existing San Francisco office, adding nine partners, 17 other lawyers and nine non-legal professionals to its local team at the time (principally through the addition of McKenna Long & Aldridge's California-based Private Client Services Group, the majority of whom were formerly associated with the Luce Forward firm).  The California practice has continued to grow since then, notably with the hire of real estate partner Marjorie Burchett from Dentons in July 2016.
