Susman Godfrey partner Randy Wilson achieved a rare Lawdragon designation recently, becoming only the second lawyer ever to be recognized as a 500 member as both a judge and a lawyer. Wilson was initially recognized in 2006 as a member of the Lawdragon 500 Leading Judges in America; he rejoined Susman Godfrey earlier this year and was recognized among the Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff Financial Lawyers in America just a few weeks ago.

Wilson is an original partner of Susman Godfrey when the firm was founded in 1980 and left in 2003 when he was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the 157th District Court in Harris Country. He was re-elected several times and consistently recognized as one of the state’s best judges. He was twice selected as Trial Judge of the Year by the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists. He is also  a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Wilson joins former Delaware Chief Justice Myron Steele who was recognized as a leading Judge, as well as a leading lawyer following his retirement in 2013, when he joined Potter Anderson & Corroon as a partner. During his 25 years on the Delaware bench, he wrote more than 300 opinions, and served as a member of the Superior Court; Vice Chancellor of the Chancery Court; and then on the Supreme Court.
