We are proud to introduce our inaugural Lawdragon Global Litigation 500.

“We are the world” has a completely new meaning in 2021 after a year in which countries and populations toppled like a string of dominoes that encircled the world. And as we poke our heads up like green buds fomenting below a cold, frozen surface, we will stand back up.

Helping right so much of what went wrong will be the lawyers featured on this guide, each of whom specializes in the language of global disputes and their solution. We began researching this guide three years ago, aware of the international dimension popping up in many disputes – which had not escaped the attention of enterprising law firms.

This guide features attorneys who specialize in international arbitration, the foundation of what we’re calling global litigation. Also recognized are public international litigators as well as those elite advisors who are routinely called upon to advise the world’s leading corporations and powerbrokers. Whether before international tribunals, arbitration forums or in court, these lawyers know their way around global business battlefields.

We selected the Global Litigation 500 members from independent research, nominations and input from editorial advisors. We have saved for another day (and guides) a focus on intellectual property as well as competition.

From Covid to Brexit our world has fundamentally changed. Every lawyer anticipates massive litigation and change to result, only the beginning of which is starting to peek through. One area in which we hope a change will come is the representation of women and inclusion in law firms. Our guide honors 33 percent women, which is neither representative of most law firm partnerships nor of global litigation corps in general. Our guide is 18 percent inclusive.
