N. Denise Taylor is one of the two founding partners of Taylor Blessey LLP. For the past 34 years, she has defended doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers in medical and dental malpractice cases. Ms. Taylor has tried or arbitrated over 150 cases, and has special expertise in high exposure cases involving birth injuries and other catastrophic damages. She has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including being recognized in Best Lawyers in America, Southern California Super Lawyers, and as one of the Los Angeles Daily Journal’s Top Women Litigators. In 2015, she was named to Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America. She is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and raised in Scottsdale Arizona, Ms. Taylor graduated from Pacific Union College (magna cum laude) with a B.A. degree in History in 1978, and received her J.D. degree from Pepperdine University in 1981. At Pepperdine, she was a member of Law Review, and was published in the Pepperdine Law Review Journal. While in law school she began working as a law clerk at Bonne, Jones, Bridges, Mueller & O’Keefe. She was hired as an associate of that firm in 1981 upon passing the California Bar, became a shareholder in 1988, and remained at the Bonne Bridges firm until 2006. Throughout her career, Ms. Taylor has specialized in medical malpractice defense, defending doctors, hospitals and other health care providers in cases involving all areas of medicine and dentistry, as well as claims of elder abuse. She also has defended clients in medical and dental board cases.

Ms. Taylor is a sought after speaker on trial advocacy as well as medical and dental malpractice issues. She has been on the faculty of the Los Angeles Chapter of ABOTA’s Jack Daniels Trial School; has participated in the ABOTA Masters in Trial series both locally and nationally; is an annual speaker at the ABOTA Leadership Conference, which she co-chaired in 2012; has been a speaker at the ASCDC’s Annual Seminar and Santa Barbara Seminars; and has been a participant in the Mock Trial and Medical Malpractice seminar panels for the Consumer Attorneys Annual Las Vegas Convention, among many others.

Ms. Taylor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). She served as the 2012 President of the Los Angeles Chapter of ABOTA. She is currently the Vice-President of the California Chapters of ABOTA—CAL-ABOTA. She has also served on the National ABOTA Executive Committee as Treasurer for the past two years. Ms. Taylor served as President of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (ASCDC) in 2013, and is a former member of the California Defense Counsel. She is a fellow of the International Society of Barristers, and a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. She is also a member of the California Medical Legal Committee.
