Read the Lawdragon Q&A with Roy Tabor, who discusses his personal injury and wrongful death practice.

Roy grew up in southern Indiana. He graduated from Bosse High School as its valedictorian and graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 1975. He worked his way through law school with the well-regarded law firm of Wilson, Tabor and Holland as a law clerk and investigator. He graduated with honors from I.U. Law School in 1979.

Today, he is the founding partner of Tabor Law Firm. In past years the firm has been honored to be the recipient of the Indiana Trial Lawyer of the Year. Roy and his wife Jennifer, a paralegal with experience in personal injury and wrongful death cases, live in Indianapolis. Roy has two children. Elizabeth graduated from Southern Methodist University in December of 2010, and his son, Alex, attends St. Luke Catholic School in Indianapolis.

Roy is a well recognized personal injury and wrongful death attorney. For over 30 years, Roy has limited his practice to assisting families with life changing injuries and assisting those families who have lost a loved one as a result of someone else’s negligence. Since 1979, he has helped hundreds of families obtain substantial settlements and verdicts to help try to compensate them for their losses.

As a result of his hard work as a lawyer for the injured and wrongfully killed, he has been honored and recognized by numerous organizations. He was selected to the 2015 list of the Nation's Top One Percent of attorneys by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel and named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the American Trial Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and the Multi Million Dollar Advocates Forum, of which there are fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers. Roy is listed as a Super Lawyer by Indianapolis Magazine. Roy also serves with distinction as a Board Member Emeritus of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association and is a Fellow in the Indiana College of Advocacy. Because of his success and leadership in representing families who suffer tragic losses from semi-tractor trailer collisions, he is one of few members of the National Advisory Board of APITLA (Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers). He is one of three Indiana lawyers to be honored with the distinction of Law Dragon, a listing of the 500 leading lawyers in America. He has been AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell® and was honored in 2012 as one of the preeminent Plaintiffs litigation practitioners in the country by Benchmark Plaintiff.

Having been blessed with enormous success in the practice of wrongful death and personal injury law, Roy has attempted to give something back to his profession and his community. He is an approved personal injury counsel for UAW Legal Services. He has been a founding member of the AARP Legal Services Program. Roy also counsels members of the Legal Club of America who have questions about wrongful death and personal injury matters. He serves as President of the Andrew P. Winzenread Scholarship Fund and President of the Gary Dudley Memorial Scholarship Fund to help deserving children of law enforcement families attend the college of their choice.

Roy has authored over fifty publications on various hot topics in personal injury and wrongful death law. He is a sought after speaker and lecturer with Indiana University, Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum and many other schools and civic groups that need to be updated on changing developments in personal injury and wrongful death law.

Roy has helped hundreds of victims of vehicular collisions, construction site incidents and those injured by defective products over the past 30 years. Today, when a life changing injury occurs, prospective clients and other lawyers seek his advice and efforts to successfully prosecute personal injury and wrongful death cases. Roy stands ready to help you seek justice when you or a family member has been injured.
