Sandy Mayuga is a shareholder with Keesal, Young & Logan in its Long Beach office.  He has been a business and transactional lawyer for over 40 years focusing on corporate transactions and forming and financing new businesses.  Mr. Mayuga has been Peer-Rated “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell for several years.  He has represented clients in all aspects of business and corporate transactions, including formations, private and public offerings of securities, mergers and acquisitions, asset-based finance and leasing and regulatory matters.

For over 36 years he has specialized in representing financial institutions, including federally-insured commercial banks, savings associations and industrial banks,  finance companies, asset-based lenders, mortgage companies and escrow companies.  Such representation includes preparing applications for de novo institutions, acquisitions and mergers, charter conversions, holding company formations and other regulatory applications, securities offerings, real estate, regulatory compliance and structuring and documenting complex corporate transactions and lending programs.

He has represented clients vis a vis the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the California Department of Business Oversight and other federal and state regulators.  In 1988 the California Commissioner of Corporations appointed Mr. Mayuga to the Commissioner’s Industrial Bank Advisory Committee, which advised the Commissioner on matters relating to legislative, regulatory and operational matters pertaining to industrial banks.  He became a member of the Financial Institutions Committee of the Business Law Sections of the State Bar of California in 1991.

Mr. Mayuga is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., 1974) where he earned the Raymond A. Speiser Award for Excellence in Field Research and studied extensively at the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce.  After law school he earned a Certificate in Private International Law at the Academie du Droit Internationale de la Haye (1974) and a Certificate from the Universite Libres du Bruxelles (1974) in the Law of the European Economic Communities.  He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Magna cum Laude, in 1970.

After graduation Mr. Mayuga practiced for several years with a mid-sized corporate and securities law firm in downtown Los Angeles, leaving to serve as Assistant General Counsel for an NYSE-listed conglomerate.   After returning to private practice, he became a partner in a large, multi-state New York- based law firm practicing in corporate transactions, international taxation and financial Institutions and a partner in a boutique Century City firm specializing in financial institutions.  Mr. Mayuga joined Keesal, Young and Logan in 2004.

From 1970 to 1989, Mr. Mayuga served in the U.S. Air Force (Regular and Reserve) achieving the rank of Major in the Air Force Intelligence Service.  He has been a member since 1976 of the British United Services Club of Los Angeles, an American and British veterans club, serving four terms as President and five terms as Secretary.  He also served as President (2008-2010) and a member of the Board of Directors (2000-2011) of the Long Beach Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.  He has been a director (since 2008) and the President (2013-2015) of the Tichenor Orthopedic Clinic for Children in Long Beach, CA, and recently was elected to the board of the Tichenor Support Foundation.   Mr. Mayuga is currently a director and the Secretary of the Long Beach Symphony Association.
