Parth S. Gejji is a board-certified appellate specialist. He focuses his practice on civil appeals and complex civil litigation, and has argued in the Texas Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and various Texas appellate courts.

Gejji also provides appellate assistance at the trial court level.  This assistance ranges from briefing dispositive motions to drafting the jury charge and arguing at the charge conference.

Gejji has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of cases, including cases dealing with contract law, the Uniform Commercial Code (“UCC”), intellectual property law, patent law, trade secret law, insurance coverage law, antitrust law, the Foreign Trade Antitrust Improvements Act (“FTAIA”), defamation law, the Fair Law Standards Act (“FLSA”), the Clean Water Act (“CWA”), tort law, products liability law, and personal injury law.

Before joining Beck Redden, Gejji clerked for the Honorable Patrick E. Higginbotham of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.  Outside of the courtroom, Gejji devotes his time to serving in professional bar organizations.

Representative Experience

U.S. Supreme Court

  • M. D. ex rel. Stukenberg v. Abbott (No. 24-1168)
    Served as lead counsel for amici curiae, including several organizations that work with children with disabilities in the foster care system, on a pro bono basis.  Filed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to grant a writ of certiorari in a case involving the Texas foster care system and the treatment of children with disabilities in the foster care system.

Texas Supreme Court

  • Pohl v. Cheatham, 718 S.W.3d 173 (Tex. 2025)
    Served as lead counsel and presented oral argument to the Texas Supreme Court in a significant appeal regarding the civil barratry statute found in Texas Government Code § 82.0651 and extraterritoriality.  The majority opinion sided with Beck Redden’s clients and held that the civil barratry statute does not reach out-of-state solicitations.
  • Port Arthur Community Action Network v. Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, 707 S.W.3d 102 (Tex. 2025)
    Assisted in drafting an amicus brief regarding the proper interpretation of environmental regulations.
  • Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp. v. Zepeda, 601 S.W.3d 763 (Tex. 2020)
    Assisted in briefing an appeal regarding Section 50 of the Texas Constitution.
  • Levinson Alcoser Associates, L.P. v. El Pistolón II, Ltd., 513 S.W.3d 487 (Tex. 2017)
    Assisted in briefing an appeal concerning the certificate of merit requirement found in Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code Chapter 150.

United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit

  • Southwest Airlines Co. v. Liberty Insurance Underwriters, Inc., 90 F.4th 847 (5th Cir. 2024)
    Assisted in securing a reversal of a summary judgment order in a cutting-edge insurance coverage dispute regarding a business interruption policy.  Beck Redden’s client, Southwest Airlines, was able to continue with its claim for coverage as a result of the reversal.
  • Hewlett-Packard Co. v. Quanta Storage, Inc., 961 F.3d 731 (5th Cir. 2020)
    Assisted in securing affirmance of a $438 million antitrust judgment in favor of Beck Redden’s client, HP, based on a price-fixing conspiracy involving optical disk drives. The appeal also involved an issue regarding the district court’s ability to enforce its judgment by ordering the defendant to turn over its assets to HP.  As the Fifth Circuit put it, “Quanta risked bet-the-company litigation and lost, so the district court ordered it to hand over the company.”

    Lead appellate counsel in an appeal involving a defamation claim.

    Assisted in briefing an appeal regarding Section 50 of the Texas Constitution.
  • Parrish v. Premier Directional Drilling, L.P., 917 F.3d 369 (5th Cir. 2019)
    Assisted in briefing an appeal regarding employee versus independent contractor status under the FLSA.
  • Nester v. Textron, Inc., 888 F.3d 151 (5th Cir. 2018)
    Assisted in securing affirmance of a $7.5 million products liability judgment in favor of a plaintiff who suffered serious injuries. The appeal involved important questions regarding Texas products liability law, jury charge practice in the Fifth Circuit, and evidentiary and bifurcation issues.
  • Shawler v. Big Valley, L.L.C., 728 F. App’x 391 (5th Cir. 2018)
    Presented oral argument to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit regarding the meaning of a “small passenger vessel” found in Title 46 of the U.S. Code.
  • Chesapeake Energy Corp v. NLRB, 633 F. App’x 613 (5th Cir. 2016)
    Assisted in drafting a successful petition for review from the NLRB’s decision that waiver of class or collective arbitration constituted an unfair labor practice.

United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit

  • Milton v. United States, 36 F.4th 1154 (Fed. Cir. 2022)
    Assisted in securing reversal of a summary judgment order in a case involving a takings claim under the Fifth Amendment.  As a result of the reversal, Beck Redden’s clients—downstream property owners who were flooded during Hurricane Harvey when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers opened the Addicks and Barker dams—were able to continue with their claims for just compensation.

  • Four J’s Community Living Center, Inc. v. Wagner, 630 S.W.3d 502 (Tex. App.—Houston [1st Dist.] 2021, pet. denied)
    Assisted in securing affirmance of a $8 million personal injury verdict in favor of Beck Redden’s client.
  • Equistar Chemicals, LP v. ClydeUnion DB, Ltd., 579 S.W.3d 505 (Tex. App.—Houston [14th Dist.], pet. denied)
    Assisted in briefing an appeal regarding the relevance of an opportunity to cure under the UCC and the offer-of-settlement provision under Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 167.
  • AirCon Corp. v. Figgs, No. 14-18-00934-CV (Tex. App.—Houston [14th Dist.])
    Assisted in briefing an appeal involving a $33 million products liability judgment in favor of Beck Redden’s client who suffered serious injuries. The case settled while on appeal. Assisted plaintiff’s trial counsel with legal issues at trial court level.
  • Arrows Up, LLC v. SandBox Logistics, LLC, No. 14-18-01091-CV (Tex. App.—Houston [14th Dist.])
    Assisted in briefing an appeal involving a $49 million judgment in favor of Beck Redden’s client, SandBox. The appeal involved issues regarding non-disclosure agreements. The case settled while on appeal. Assisted the Beck Redden trial team with legal issues at trial court level.
  • In re Wagner, 560 S.W.3d 309 (Tex. App.—Houston [1st Dist.], orig. proceeding [mand. denied])
    Assisted in obtaining a vacatur of a post-verdict new trial order. The vacatur resulted in the reinstatement of a $8 million personal injury verdict in favor of Beck Redden’s client.

Federal District Court and Texas Trial Court Proceedings

  • U.S. Silica Co. v. Amberger Kaolinwerke Eduard Kick GmbH & Co. KG, No. 2:20-CV-00298 (E.D. Tex.)
    Assisted trial team in a case involving patent and state law claims, including drafting the jury charge and arguing at the charge conference.
  • Bayou City Waterkeeper v. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, No. 3:20-CV-00255 (S.D. Tex.)
    Represented an environmental non-profit in a case involving a challenge to a CWA permit on a pro bono basis.
  • Represented a widow in a lawsuit regarding life insurance proceeds.
    Assisted trial counsel with legal briefing and analysis of the Texas Insurance Code and argued the directed verdict motion and the jury charge conference.
  • Represented a municipality in a lawsuit against engineering professionals and others.
    Assisted trial counsel with summary judgment briefing. The case settled successfully before trial.
