Heather A. Benjamin focuses her practice on advising high net worth individuals and families on all aspects of estate planning, charitable giving and business succession matters in order to help clients achieve their goals in the most tax‑efficient manner, while remaining attentive to the deeply personal family dynamics that are unique to each client.

Benjamin also regularly represents beneficiaries and fiduciaries with respect to the administration of complex trusts and estates, including dispute resolutions and the settlement of tax controversies. In addition, she has extensive experience structuring family offices and providing counsel on business succession planning, particularly in the context of M&A and financing transactions.

Benjamin is from Stamford, Connecticut. She received a B.A. from New York University in 2005 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2010, where she was the Managing Editor of the Blackletter Law Journal and an editor of the Civil Rights‑Civil Liberties Law Review. Benjamin is a partner liaison to Cravath’s African American/Black Affinity Group.

Benjamin joined Cravath in 2011 and was elected a partner in 2020.
