Robert Landy is an experienced litigator who regularly represents institutional and individual clients in connection with complex commercial litigation as well as regulatory and white-collar criminal investigations.
In recent years, much of Landy’s practice involves civil disputes that combine complex elements of commercial and criminal law and often concurrent law enforcement investigations or actions. Landy has represented clients that are subject to OFAC and EU Council economics sanctions who are also parties to U.S. litigation in matters where their status is a material aspect of the case. Landy has also represented parties in civil cases while simultaneously representing their interests as witnesses in related regulatory or criminal investigations.

- Represented CEO of a large oil and gas corporation as the claimant in a civil forfeiture action seeking to recover a $300 million dollar asset that was wrongfully seized by the Department of Justice.
- Served as lead counsel for a sanctioned foreign investment company in several actions for discovery under 28 U.S.C. 1782 in connection with its efforts to challenge its designation by the European Council as well as a $500+ million commercial dispute.
- Served as lead counsel representing an OFAC-sanctioned foreign bank in a civil tort action alleging violation of the anti-terrorism act.

- Served as lead counsel representing a doctor and nine members of an ICU's medical staff in three separate actions against a hospital and its parent organization whose false allegations resulted in the doctor being indicted for 25 counts of murder, for which he was ultimately acquitted.
