Matt Robertson advises national, international and regional financial institutions, investment banks and investors on the financing of commercial properties, including office buildings, hotels, shopping centers and multifamily housing.
His work covers the origination of complex loans, including multistate and multi-property mortgage facilities and large structured financings involving multiple lenders across mortgage and mezzanine debt positions. Robertson also handles workouts, foreclosures, and loan servicing, and brings extensive experience in intercreditor arrangements, loan syndications, and the sale of participation and whole loan interests.

He supports clients across the full financing lifecycle, from initial structuring and documentation through to secondary market transactions and distressed situations, with consistent depth across both performing and non-performing loan portfolios.
Robertson serves as chairperson of the board of trustees of the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy and sits on the Local Advisory Board of Legal Aid of North Carolina. He is a member of the Education Subcommittee of the CRE Finance Council's Sustainability Initiative and the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee.
