Matt Minner is a Lexington personal injury lawyer and Nashville personal injury lawyer who serves as Managing Partner and CEO of Minner Vines Injury Lawyers, PLLC, where he leads the firm's strategic direction and is integral in the firm’s catastrophic injury and wrongful death litigation and consumer protection litigation.

Matt Minner has won a verdict that the National Law Journal ranked among the Top 100 in America. He has also won one of the top five verdicts of the year in Kentucky and one of the top ten of the decade in Alabama. His cases don’t just end in verdicts. They change the law. After Matt represented the family of a college freshman who died in an alcohol-related hazing incident, Minner helped the family push Lofton’s Law through the Kentucky legislature, making hazing a felony. He then took the fight for hazing reform to “Good Morning America.”

For three decades, Minner has taken on some of the biggest corporate defendants in the country, including Ford, Firestone, Volkswagen, 3M, John Deere, Microsoft and Merck. He recently led a $77 million dollar settlement in an important products liability case.  He won a $37.5 million jury verdict for the family of a young police officer killed in the line of duty. In the early 2000s, he spent a decade trying tire tread-separation cases nationwide. As co-lead counsel for Kentucky against Merck over Vioxx, he secured $25 million, at the time the largest consumer protection recovery in the state’s history.

In 2022, after 22 years at Hare Wynn Newell & Newton, Minner co-founded Minner Vines Injury Lawyers. Within two years, the firm had produced multiple eight-figure results of $39 million, $26 million, $14 million and $12.5 million. The $14 million came in a heatstroke death case that led a university to adopt new safety protocols for student-athletes. His cases have been covered by USA Today, Good Morning America, CBS, ABC, Fox, Law360 and The National Law Journal.

Minner is a former federal judicial clerk, a Vanderbilt Law graduate and a member of the Law School’s Board. He also runs marathons, including Boston, and has completed the grueling 29,029 vertical feet climb of Mount Everest www.29029.com in a single effort. With his wife, Joy, he co-founded Cure KY Kids, which supports Kentucky children fighting cancer.

Notable Work

Minner represents individuals, businesses, and government entities, often in cases involving powerful corporations. He served as lead and co-lead counsel for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and other states in consumer protection litigation that resulted in record recoveries.

He has also been credited with securing one of the top five verdicts of the year in Kentucky and one of the top ten verdicts of the decade in Alabama.
