Kyle Casazza is a partner in the Litigation Department of Proskauer Rose and a member of the Trial Strategies and Antitrust practices, where he focuses on all areas of complex commercial litigation. Casazza has significant plaintiff and defense-side experience in jury and bench trials in both state and federal courts. Most recently, Casazza was named to the inaugural Lawdragon 500 Leading Global Entertainment, Sports & Media Lawyers.

Casazza was part of the trial team that received recognition for the defense of Sanderson Farms against $7 billion in damages claims arising from an alleged conspiracy in the broiler chicken industry. Following a six-week trial in the Northern District of Illinois after 13 of 14 defendants settled, the jury returned a complete defense verdict.

Casazza helps solve sophisticated issues across diverse industries, including agriculture, sports, oil and gas, media and entertainment, biologics and small-molecule pharmaceuticals, financial services, technology, and aerospace. Casazza has also successfully represented major law firms in connection with claims involving both clients and non-clients. Casazza’s counseling extends to government investigations, including civil and criminal antitrust matters, False Claims Act investigations, and NTSB investigations of aerospace accidents.

In his pro bono work, Casazza has argued in front of the Florida Supreme Court on behalf of Brady, defending a proposed ballot initiative to ban certain assault weapons. In a leading-edge lawsuit against the United States Navy, Casazza secured a discharge upgrade for a veteran who had experienced military sexual trauma. Casazza also serves as a board member for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, and a Founders Club member of Reasons to be Cheerful, a nonprofit media outlet which aims to inspire us all to be curious about how the world can be better, and to ask ourselves how we can be part of that change.

Casazza graduated first in his class from the USC Gould School of Law in May 2007. Following graduation, Casazza clerked for the Honorable Sandra Segal Ikuta, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Casazza graduated from the USC Thornton School of Music in 2003, and as a drummer has studied and performed with numerous award-winning musicians, including Gregg Bissonette, Gregg Field, Ndugu Chancler, Tommy Igoe, Ed Shaughnessy, and Menzie Pittman.

Casazza is an award-winning BBQ pitmaster and has served as an elected board member of the California BBQ Association, a 501(c)(3) organization created to raise money to support veterans' organizations, education, hunger relief and disaster relief.
