John Hammel Strauss (“JH”) is a partner in the New York office of Reid Collins & Tsai LLP. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including cases involving financial fraud and negligence, professional negligence, fiduciary liability, lender liability, and shareholder appraisal rights. He has litigated cases before state courts, federal courts, and arbitration tribunals across the country, in addition to representing clients in connection with confidential, pre-suit settlements. As part of his professional liability practice, Strauss has pursued legal malpractice claims against numerous AmLaw 100 firms involving a wide range of alleged misconduct. For his professional achievements, Strauss has been recognized as one of the nation’s top young lawyers by Lawdragon in its list “500 X – The Next Generation.”

Prior to joining Reid Collins, Strauss clerked for the Honorable Lewis A. Kaplan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and worked as a litigation associate in the New York office of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. JH received his J.D. with honors from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar and development editor of the Columbia Law Review. JH received his B.A. in History, cum laude, from Dartmouth College.
