Ting Liu is a partner in Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP’s San Diego office, where she represents large institutional and individual investors. Her practice focuses on complex securities litigation. Liu was a member of the trial team that obtained a $350 million settlement on the eve of trial in Smilovits v. First Solar, Inc., the fifth-largest PSLRA settlement recovered in the Ninth Circuit at the time. She was also a member of the Firm’s trial team in Hsu v. Puma Biotechnology, Inc., a securities fraud class action that resulted in a verdict in favor of investors after a two-week jury trial. Liu has been named a Leading Plaintiff Financial Lawyer by Lawdragon.

Liu earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in English and Communications and a minor in Political Science from the University of Washington and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. Before joining the Firm, Liu worked in the Regulatory Affairs department at First Allied Securities, Inc. and served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Anthony J. Battaglia of the Southern District of California for two years. Liu previously served as the Secretary and Vice President of Community Outreach for the Federal Bar Association’s San Diego Chapter. She was also published in the Jury Trial Improvement Committee Newsletter and was a guest lecturer at the University of San Diego School of Law’s practicum course on the topic of practicing in federal court.
