Smith LaCien was recognized in Jury Verdict Reporter’s annual Settlements Report as one of the Top 5 plaintiff’s injury law firms in 2025 with settlements of $96.5 million. Its largest settlement was for $30.5 million, awarded to the family of a construction worker who died from injuries sustained on the job. Smith was also named a recipient of the JVR/Law Bulletin Media 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award.
A founding partner of Power Rogers & Smith, P.C., in 1993, he left the firm to start Smith LaCien LLP with Brian LaCien in March 2020.
