The Lawdragon selection process has been created over 35 years of researching and reporting on the legal profession and creating guides to the most effective legal professionals. Our team brings more than 100 years in the lawyer reporting and information business.
The foundation of our selection is in journalism. We research each guide extensively, studying which lawyers and law practices have had significant impact, including an emphasis on recent matters handled and clients advised. We accept submissions and review them alongside thousands of candidates we identify and consider for each guide. We also work with editorial advisors in each substantive area to develop the focus of the guide and identify talent.
Selection for the Lawdragon 500 Leading Global Entertainment, Sports & Media Lawyers has us scouring the globe for those lawyers at the forefront of one of the hottest practices around – advising those who shape what we view, read and admire. They are companies and individuals who entertain and motivate us, who move global needles in fashion, film, media and motivation.
Lawdragon seeks lawyers who have achieved distinction and a following, which typically takes 10+ years in practice (the exception being our Next Generation guide). We are looking for lawyers who advise established global players, as well as the always vibrant group of creators building the companies of the future and the presence of now. These include studios, production companies, media companies (old and new), celebrities, individual talent, content creators, investors and financiers.
And what’s bigger than sports? We seek those who represent leagues, teams, athletes, owners and their financiers and investors, as well as those who broadcast and make possible one of the world’s great unifiers: competition, whether football or futbol, ice skating or hockey, digital gamers or golf.
